Week 2: It’s week 2 of our journey into Life Makeovers by Cheryl Richardson. I hope you all had a chance to get your copies by now. If not I listed above the action steps for the week so you can follow along until you get your copy.
Last week we listed 5 of our most important accomplishments and 3 ways in which we’ve
grown this past year. I hope in doing this you were able to see how magnificent you truly are and just how much your capable of doing. We tend to forget sometimes so the reminder is great! Moving on to week 2.
Week 2 is: New Year/New You
This chapter invites us to dig deeper and come up with an internal goal instead of an external goal. Instead of goal setting on what you want to bring into your life it asks you to think of one way in which you can personally develop or a way in which you can strengthen your character. Some examples are:
Become financially responsible.
Be patient.
Be open minded.
It then suggests
that we follow a 3 Step Process:
Step 1:
Write a positive affirmation in the present tense that relates to this goal.
Step 2:
Print out the affirmation and hang it somewhere you will see it throughout the
day.
Step 3:
Chose 3 actions you can take during the next week to begin developing this
quality right away.
Your Homework is:
Write about the quality you’d most like to develop.
Write an affirmation.
Decide which 3 action steps you will take to accomplish this goal.
Once again check out the valuable references at the end of the chapter. Till next week.
Have a great week ladies.

Happy New Year it's 2012
Happy New Year! It’s 2012 and I can hardly believe it, where does the time go? For most of us we spend so much of our time running around trying to do so much we lose track of days,
months and sometimes years. It’s time to get proactive about our lives and take some much needed time for ourselves. I was pondering what book I could share with you that could help you have a more productive year. Life Makeovers by Cheryl Richardson 52 Practical & Inspiring Ways to Improve Your Life One Week at a time seemed to be the best one to fit the bill. This book is divided into the 52 weeks of the year providing you with one action step that you can take each week to improve your life (easy enough).
You can get your copy here:

Week 1: The Journey Begins:
What I love about this beginning to the New Year is that it’s asks you to reflect on the
past year and write down all of the things you did right not focus on what you did wrong. It asks you a series of questions to get you going. This helps you start the New Year in a positive light rather than regretting what now is past. Every chapter has small action steps. In this chapter you list your 5 most important accomplishments. And 3 ways in which you’ve grown in the past year. At the end of every chapter you have a list of very valuable resources for further exploration. I highly recommend digging deeper into these resources they are amazing. Until next week, here is to a happy, healthy, new you.

Technology Fast 08-25-11
As I sit here writing this post I find myself wondering, how much time do we waste in a day on un-necessary activities that slow down our productivity? I personally find myself at times constantly drawn to the ding of a new email on my phone, and then I check Facebook, and then Twitter, by the time I realize I lost 5 or 10 minutes on this nonsense. All though all of those applications are extremely useful, when is it too much? In this technological society we are easily sucked in by all these amazing gadgets. But how productive are we really? These gadgets are designed to keep us organized, productive, and stress free if we utilize them correctly and do not abuse them. If not, then there just an added stressor in our lives. If this sounds like you, you are not alone. Here are some quick tips on staying productive and still stay on the grid.
- When you need to focus on something important, consider putting you phone on vibrate. This way if an important call comes in you can still answer it but you are not constantly disturbed by the dings on the phone.
- Decide on a time of day when you will get off the internet and turn your phone off and stick to it. Pick up a great book instead, take a hot bath, and relax.
- Go on an Electronic Fast, pick one day a week and stay off the Internet all day or half the day if you cannot fully disconnect. Find something else to do. Journal, read, take a nap instead.
By just utilizing one or all of these suggestions you will find you have more time available to work on meaninful projects and in turn you will feel more productive. Don't you kind of miss the days of being disconnected and using a paper planner? I know I do.

Welcome
Welcome to Coaching Chick my name is Lizi and I'm a Certified Life Coach. I created this blog to share tips and resources to help you improve your life, relationships and reach your goals. I' m here to help you, feel free to post a question or ask me for advice. Check back and look for my posts. I look forward to getting to know you. Here is today's Coaching Tip:
Give yourself a "time out"
No, not like the one you give your kids when they misbehave. When I say time out I mean time to "de-compress" time to "re=boot" and regroup. If you are having a difficult day at the office instead of staying in and eating at your desk or going to a crowded mall go for a walk instead, grab a book that will transport you, eat a healthy lunch and just let it go. By the time you get back to your office you will be renewed.
After a long day at work after you've finished your household chores and put your kids to sleep give yourself a little treat, take a nice hot bath, relax, read a good book you deserve it. The idea is that after each stress phase you go through a recovery phase needs to follow in order for you to feel balanced and content. Until next time my fellow chicks.
